  • The U.S. Federal government pays an $8 billion annual energy bill. If all Federal agencies purchased energy-efficient products, the U.S. could immediately save about $900 million per year and reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by 11 million metric tons of CO2.
  • Energy production and use account for nearly 80% of all air pollution, nearly 90% of heat trapping greenhouse gases, and more environmental damage than any other human activity.
